The system of initial training and access of teachers in the school has been redefined by Legislative Decree 59/2017. Among the access requirements, in addition to the educational qualification, it is necessary to possess 24 ECTS achieved in compliance with the provisions of Ministerial Decree 616/2017, which establishes the disciplinary areas, the training objectives and the organizational methods of the achievement of credits.
Admission requirements include earning the necessary ECTS in the following subject areas:
- Social pedagogy and Inclusive teaching (M-PED/03)
- Psychology (M-PSI/04)
- Anthropology (M-DEA/01)
- General educational and digital methodologies (M-PED/04)
Consistently with official requests, ICOTEA, a training organization accredited by MIUR, is authorized to issue norm-compliant ECTS to participate in school competitions.

The curriculum for the Anthropology (M-DEA/01) course provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the mind and behaviour of individuals in social contexts.
